Shortly after confederation of Indian industry described it as one of the thrust areas in Kerala is, interest in medical tourism is gaining currency. The high cost of medical care and long waiting period are prompting more foreigners to come to the state for treatment. Focuz Holidays, a division of $50-million Focuz group, has tied up with Canada based retail tour operator unbelievable India to promote medical tourism in the state. A separate partnership company called Best Med Tourism has been formed for the purpose. Best Med tourism will coordinate all aspects of the medical tour in association with the hospitals. The various hospitals under consideration of the company for tie up Lakeshore, AIMS, Vasan Eye clinic, Dr.Rajkrishnan’s dental clinic, KIMS and MIMS.
